CITY OF NORWICH AVIATION MUSEUM

Norwich Airport, the former RAF station Horsham St. Faith, was also home to the American Eighth Air Force 458th Bomb Group during World War II. The museum is a good vantage point for viewing aircraft using the airport. Run entirely by enthusiastic volunteers, the museum offers something of interest to all visitors. Displays relating to the aeronautical history of the locality are supported by a collection of aircraft engines, equipment and restored airframes including an Avro Vulcan B2A XM612, De Havilland Vampire T11 XD375, Gloster Javelin FAW9 XH767, Westland Whirlwind HAR 9, De Havilland Sea Vixen FAW2, Dassault Mystere IVA, Lockheed Shooting Star T33A and a Handley Page Herald HPR7 G-ASKK

Some of the aircraft cockpits are open to visitors.

The museum is located on the far side of the airport from the terminal building, about a 40 minute walk along the roads surrounding the airport. From the terminal building, proceed out of the airport complex to the traffic lights. Turn right onto the A140 then take the next right turn to Horsham St. Faith, about 1 mile. Be warned, the A140 is very busy and there are no pavements along most of the route. It would be wiser to hire a taxi from outside the airport, especially if you use a wheelchair or have children with you.
