Inside you will see aircraft engines, the Rolls-Royce Merlin, which powered the famous Hurricane and Spitfire in those uncertain and early days of the Battle of Britain, to the coming of the Hawker Typhoon, that mighty fighter which proved to be a potent weapon against German artillery in Normandy.
View the inside of a Horsa Glider, the Army's engine-less wooden wonder, see how the cockpit of the Spitfire looked from the pilot's view and join friends or family for photographs in front of the replica Spitfire guarding the museum. See also the RAF Fire Engines.
The Air Sea Rescue section shows the way the Marine Branch operated, saving the lives of thousands of Allied and Axis airmen.
