Situated on the west side of the airfield, the museum is housed in the restored Battle
Headquarters. The story of the bomber command with its Wellingtons is told in great
detail. Wellesbourne was an active and well-known Bomber Command operational training unit
during the Second World War. There are various aircraft in different stages of
restoration, including a Percival P.56 Provost T.1, De Havilland D.H.110 Sea Vixen FAW.2
(FAW.1) and De Havilland D.H.115 Vampire T.11. There is also an original Avro Vulcan
bomber XM-655, in largely working order and under active restoration. The museum is run
by a members club. Various pictures and other items are available for purchase to help
finance the restoration of the aircraft. The museum organises occasional open days during
the year when some of the aircraft are tested on the runway at 100% engine power.
